Hi Viktor

The Content and Media Nodes are not being touched by the Automated Releases, so changing elements in these areas involves manual release procedures or installation instructions. We still deploy to these areas with packages, but not automated.

This is to keep the deployment setup as clean and simple as possible.

As a general update, our latest project runs CI on TeamCity with WebDeploy and TDS. Keeping environments updated is a bliss.

Hey Jan,

Thanks for sharing your experience. We are going to completely eliminate manual steps during deployment (we use sitecore packages, custom sitecore applications and manual edit in Content Editor now). Your approach is interesting, but I was wondering how do you deal with the deployment of content items? (ex. default business configuration that should be added, adding new items, updating existing one with data for new fields). Have you automated this process?

We are looking for best approach now (custom or basing on TDS) and any successful experience is really important.
